Instructor
Master Constantino Terrigno began his martial arts training in 1981 in Kyokushinkai and later in Isshinryu, both Japanese systems of karate. In 1987 he discovered and began his study of Tang Soo Do and has been training in and teaching the art ever since. His original Tang Soo Do instructors in New York were Master Darrell Schulze and Master Young Ki Hong. Master Hong, an internationally respected martial artist is also the son-in-law of the late Great Grandmaster Hwang Kee, founder of Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan. Prior to moving to Florida in 2004, Master Terrigno owned and operated Rockland Tang Soo Do Academy which he opened in 1993. With his original instructors no longer active in Tang Soo Do, Master Terrigno began training in 2008 under the guidance of legendary Grandmaster Andy Ah Po, 9th Degree Black Belt and founder of the Tang Soo Do Martial Way Association. Master Terrigno received his 2nd degree Black Belt and Teacher's certificate (Kyo Sa) in 1992, and his 4th degree and Master Instructor's certificate (Sa Bom) in April of 1999. On October 17, 2009 he was awarded his 5th Degree by Grandmaster Ah Po and the Tang Soo Do Martial Way Association, which maintains rigorous standards for qualification and continuing education of Master Instructors. Master Terrigno has competed and given demonstrations at numerous local, regional and national events and is a 2-time Forms Grand Champion. He is the creator and editor of Tang Soo Do World, a website which debuted in March 2007 and is the number one Tang Soo Do reference site on the internet. He also serves as editor of our Association's quarterly newsletter.
