Our Program

Grandmaster Hwang Kee

We teach Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan, a Korean martial art founded by Great Grandmaster Hwang Kee in 1945, but whose roots are centuries old. It is a composite style that combines elements of Korean, Chinese and Okinawan systems and is considered both a "hard" and "soft" style. It is most closely associated with Chuck Norris who studied the art while stationed in Korea and was one of the earliest returning servicemen to begin teaching it in the U.S.. Tang Soo Do is currently taught in over 45 countries and is regularly featured in all the major martial arts publications.

Since we are a traditional martial arts school we provide a structured curriculum that allows you  or your child to progress at a pace consistent with your skill level, age or physical condition. Our goal at Two Dragons Tang Soo Do is to develop complete martial artists, so you will not only learn the physical techniques but also the principles behind them that make them effective. In addition, you or your child will develop a safety-awareness mindset that is the first line of defense against becoming a victim. Regardless of age, gender or size, Tang Soo Do has something for everyone.

All classes begin with warm-up and stretching, followed by any combination of the following:

     ●   Basics - Individual hand and foot techniques and combinations
     ●   One-step sparring - Controlled simulation of attack and defense routines with a partner
     ●   Self-defense - Escapes from grabs and holds
     ●   Sparring - No contact - we stress precision and control of fighting techniques
     ●   Forms - Choreographed movements simulating fighting multiple opponents
     ●   Breathing - A variety of exercises for correct breath and internal energy (Chi) control

●   Break-falling - Controlled falling exercises for safety

Children's Classes
Ages 8 to 12

Our children's class is a full one hour, not the forty five minutes you'll find at most martial arts schools. What you will notice first about our classes is structure and discipline. No students running around here.

At the core of our curriculum is a methodology for helping our students develop into young adults through self-discipline, respect and acceptance of personal responsibility for everything they do, whether inside or outside the school. That means developing good life skills in addition to physical skills.

Classes also include an array of games and exercises that are related to their training and designed to challenge them mentally and physically while at the same time having fun.

And when it comes to belt testing, rank is always earned, not just given.

Adults Classes
Ages 13 and up

Nearly all adults today want an activity that will help them reduce stress and shed some weight. Training in Tang Soo Do can certainly do that. But it also offers other benefits that typical gym memberships don't provide - a proven system to help them get their lives in balance. Body, mind and spirit balance is what Tang Soo Do is all about.

With each 75 minute class, adults get a roadmap for not only acquiring effective self-defense skills, but principles and techniques which actually improve their quality of life because over time, they begin to think, feel and act differently - more confident, more in control and therefore more balanced.

The resurgence of adults enrolling in the martial arts today is testimony to the benefits they receive for their efforts and it is not unusual to see them begin at 45, 50 or even 60 years of age.

Tang Soo Do training is a life-changing activity and our curriculum will help you experience that profound change regardless of your age or current physical condition.
